China's Efforts for 2008 Olympics Safety

Beijing's Director General of Security said last week that despite being one of the safest cities in the world, the Chinese capital of Beijing still has much to do security wise to prepare for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Ma Zhenchuan says his security department was working to train for such unexpected events as terrorist attacks, with the olympic games now more than two years away .

China Broadcast reports : "We will continue to improve our command system, strengthen the collection and processing of information, promote our security science and technology equipment, upgrade our anti-terrorist capabilities and get ourselves ready for any unexpected accidents that may happen any time."

Staff from public security departments, armed police forces, and the Chinese military are involved in Olympic security.
